How to download drivers and software

What you need:


– PC/Laptop
– Multiprobe
– Interface cables
– Power supply (AC / DC)
HyperTerminal (Communications Software)
WinZip (Archive utility)

 

 

How to download:
  1. Choose the software driver update from the downloads list.
  2. Select Save this file to disk.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Specify a folder on the hard drive from the list, and then click Save.
  5. Click Open to extract the file using WinZip, or click Open Folder for more options.

    Recommended: choose to open the folder and click the file with the right-mouse button, point to WinZip, and then click Extract to here in the menu.
How to upgrade software and drivers:
  1. Start HyperTerminal.
  2. Set the port properties to:
    Bits per second: 19200
    Data bits: 8
    Parity: None
    Stop bits: 1
    Flow control: Xon/Xoff
    Emulation: ANSI
  3. Connect the multiprobe to the PC using the interface cable.
  4. Start communications with the multiprobe and the PC. The header information shows up and then real-time data.
  5. Select Level 3, and then press Enter.
  6. Type the password Hydlab for Level 3 Security, and then press Enter.

    The default password is case sensitive. The Main Menu returns and the status line at the bottom of the screen reflects the unit is logged at Level-3 security

    Note: If the default password fails for Level-3 security, then it has been changed. Contact your organization for the new password.

  7. Select Software from the multiprobe Main Menu, and then press Enter.
  8. Choose option Sensor or Main.

    The option Main is used to load the upgrade of the Main MPL Motherboard software
    The option Sensor is used to load the upgrade of the sensor driver.

    If you select Main, HyperTerminal displays a message indicating the Sonde is waiting for XMODEM-1K file transmission. A string of letters "C" displays when the Sonde is communicating with the PC. Proceed to step 10.

    If you select Sensor, select the multiprobe parameter to update the sensor driver, and then Enter.

  9. Select Add-Reset from the three options, and then press Enter.

    HyperTerminal shows a message indicating the Sonde is waiting for XMODEM-1K file transmission. A string of letters "C" displays when the Sonde is communicating with the PC.

  10. Select Transfer in the HyperTerminal menu.
  11. Select Send File.

    Use the Browse to locate the unzipped driver file in the HyperTerminal pop-up.

  12. Choose Protocol to 1K-XMODEM from the drop-down menu.
  13. Click Send to start the file transfer.

    Note: The file transfer will fail due to a time out. Press any key to restart communications between the multiprobe and PC. Return to step 10 and proceed.

    A message will display when the transfer is completed. The multiprobe restarts and resets Level-2 security.

    Note: If Main MPL Motherboard software was installed, time and temperature parameters are displayed. You can add other parameters using Setup, Display, and Parameters menus.

    After installing upgraded MPL Motherboard software: SDI 12 defaults are disabled. Enable SDI 12 defaults using Setup, I/O, and SDI Address menus. Type the the SDI address to enable SDI
    12. Type the capital letter X to disable SDI 12.

    After installing upgraded sensor drivers: An asterisk is added to the parameter next to the installed driver. The asterisk indicates calibration values have been reset to default parameters. Recalibrating the parameters removes the asterisk.

  14. Select HL and press Enter to confirm file transfer from PC to multiprobe.
  15. Select Main and press Enter to confirm software revision.
  16. Select Sensors and press Enter to confirm driver revision. Revision levels are shown with associated parameters.
