The Hydras 3 software package incorporates powerful functionality and a database specialized for hydrological, meteorological and water quality data management. The software package is continually evolving, with major input coming from various global water authorities and hydrogeology experts.

Four versions of Hydras3 are available:
- Hydras3 LT – Interrogation and configuration of Hydrolab multiparameter sondes. Included free with every Series 4a sonde.
- Hydras3 Basic – LT functionality, Interrogation and configuration of OTT instruments, importation of data from external dataloggers, data storage and graphical evaluation of data
- Hydras3 Standard – Basic functionality, graphical editor, job manager for auto-polling of external devices, alarm management, statistical evaluation of data, isolines and more
- Hydras3 Pro – Standard functionality with integrated script language and web server
