Hach LDO™ Now Available on New Hydrolab Series 5 Instruments

Hach Environmental is excited to announce the release the new Series 5 platform of water quality instruments. This new platform offers Hach LDO (Luminescent Dissolved Oxygen) as a sensor option. With Hach’s industry-best LDO technology on a Hydrolab Series 5 sonde, you never have any DO membranes to replace, DO calibrations last longer than ever before, and the accuracy of your DO data is unmatched.

Hach’s industry-best luminescent dissolved oxygen technology measures DO without actually consuming oxygen from the water, or consuming electrolyte and anodes. This technology allows your DO calibration to last longer than ever before – reducing the frequency of your site visits, and therefore saving you time and money!

In addition, because the sensor does not consume oxygen, passive fouling will not affect DO readings. For sites with active fouling (i.e., barnacles), the Hach LDO sensor is completely integrated into our sonde, so it can be cleaned with our DS5X.

Hach LDO does not use any membranes, so concerns about air bubbles, 24-hour membrane relaxation, and the art of maintenance are a thing of the past. The LDO sensor cap needs to be changed only once per year, and that process couldn’t be any simpler.

Finally, the Series 5 instruments allow you to measure more parameters than ever before. You can measure DO, Conductivity, pH, Turbidity, Chlorophyll a, Blue-Green Algae, and more all in one sonde!
